Research and Development

TLC prioritizes evidence-based decision-making by investing in research and development to generate insights that inform policy, improve agricultural practices, and scale sustainable innovations in land restoration, food security, and climate resilience.

The primary goal is to find evidence-based answers that can help farmers become more resilient and achieve food security. Research findings will provide necessary skills/knowledge to farmers to effectively respond to pests and diseases, use resilient farming systems, and have access to time bound agricultural information.

These research efforts align well with Malawi's National Research Agenda 2063, which highlights research, science, and technology as key drivers for the country's productivity, innovation, and competitiveness at regional and global levels.

The research work includes the following:

- Development of Pest Models
- Testing and Scaling out of IPM Technologies (Push-pull, Pheromone Delta Traps)
- Conservation Agriculture Maize and Groundnuts Trials
